Legislative Update

The numbers continue to rise as we get closer to the end of the 2011 legislative year. Currently, there are 102 enactments and 224 introductions in the states. The latest enactment was another uniform act adopted by court rule: the Uniform Rules Relating to Discovery of Electronically Stored Information was recently adopted in Connecticut by court rule. Connecticut is the first state to enact these rules, approved by the ULC in 2007.

New Members

In Virginia, Robert Tavenner is our newest commissioner. Mr. Tavenner is the Director of the Virginia Division of Legislative Services in Richmond, and replaces E.M. Miller, who recently retired and became a life member.
